Vittorio Scarano is an Associate Professor at the IT Department, Università degli Studi di Salerno, Italy. He is the Co-director of the ISISLab, that works on Distributed systems, Virtual/Augmented reality and Open Data. He also coordinated the European Horizon 2020 Project ROUTE-TO-PA for the Transparency of the Public Administrations in the Open Data field. 

He got the PhD in Archeology cum laude at the Università degli Studi dell'Aquila. He is been working for more than ten years as responsible of archaelological sites on behalf of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage local offices in Campania and Basilicata regions. He is an expert of Open Data in the Cultural Heritage field.
